Mahogany Victorian Side Chair

Traditional with a modern twist, it’s a sweet example of a mahogany, carved frame Victorian chair.

The gently rounded back is tufted and the upholstery is done in a perfect faux leopard fabric and black gimp trim, all set on top of some very pretty cabriole legs.

Milk Glass Table Lamps

I fell in love with the pair of these adorable little hobnail milk glass lamps the second I laid eyes on them. They don’t get any cuter than this!

Just look at the “crown” above the heavily skirted shades.  Both shades of each of the milk glass table lamps still retain their perfect organza bows.

Turned Walnut Wooden Lamp

One of my favorite things about this wonderful walnut, turned wood lamp base with this fringed shade is it’s versatility.

You can dress this lamp up in less than 2 minutes by simply changing the shade out for another one in a different style or color.

The neutral tone of the wood goes with just about anything. Try a more formal look for this lamp with a 5 or 6 paneled silk shade in a cream or maybe a rich cranberry color. Hang a tassle over the side for a nice custom touch.

Janice Gibson, Sanlando Depression Glass Show

The Sanlando Depression Glass Show and Sale was recently held at the Sanford Civic Center and boy, am I ever glad that I finally got to go.

Bill and Millie Downey

The promoters, Bill and Milley Downey, did a fabulous job of bringing in 28 dealers from all over the U.S. to display their depression glass collections.

I met with glass vendors from Georgia, New York, and Pennsylvania, all of them genuinely nice, friendly, and informative folks with beautiful depression glass collections to show.

Sanlando Depression Glass Show 2009

I was in awe of the beautifully displayed glassware glittering enchantingly everywhere I looked. It was similar to being a kid in it’s favorite candy store. I wanted it all!

Anyway, I had a blast, purchased some beautiful depression glass goodies to share with shoppers at my Hourglass Cottage Antiques shop in St. Cloud, FL, and will absolutely go back in January for the next show. It’s always a joy to reconnect with friends and vendors as I shop for unique treasures, past and present to add to the Hourglass Cottage Antiques collection.
